Gail Lacouture

Specializes in classic American Literature and Social Studies.

Gail Lacouture is a certified English Language Arts teacher in grades 5-12 and the lead ELA middle school teacher in her southeastern Massachusetts school district. She holds certifications in Humanities grades 5-8, Sheltered English Immersion, and has a Masters in Journalism. Her teaching philosophy is centered upon building strong relationships with students and creating a welcoming environment where confidence is paramount.

Lacouture prides herself on making viable connections with young adults as they prepare themselves for the challenging transition to high school. Lacouture believes that if a student feels comfortable and cared for in a classroom, it’s amazing what he or she can do. Once that relationship is built, hopefully a love of learning ensues. Reading and writing are Lacouture’s passions and she hopes to impart this love of literature with students, and start to craft an appreciation of language and storytelling in even the most resistant.
