  • Linker Chantal worked with a Learner to discuss two philosophers: Arthur Schopenhauer and Soren Kierkegaard.
  • Linker Maya has been working hard to recruit new Linkers for our growing community. Wonderful effort!
  • Linker Lava has created and refined a Learner handbook and an internal service protocol.
  • Thank you to Linker Zhengyang for the great new GTL flyer.
  • Linker Yukta and Annie are working on revamping GTL social media accounts to be more engaging.
  • Linker Steven is rehauling the GTL website to update our services tab!
  • Mental Health Awareness! Linkers Annie and Rebecca are passionate about mental health and have created a mental health-related newsletter! 
  • The GTL Newsletter is looking for submissions!!
    • Send in blog posts, activities you’re involved in, poetry, art, interesting articles, cool opportunities; etc. Reply to this email with your ideas.

December is Universal Human Rights Month! To uplift this mission, GTL will highlight historical events and persons related to the proliferation of universal human rights. 

 

 

 

National and Universal Human Rights Month

December is the annual month to recognize justice, equality, and dignity of all humans across the globe. In order to better observe and honor human rights, it is important to recognize what human rights are. The international document outlining the fundamental freedoms and human rights is outlined in the Declaration of Human Rights proclaimed by the United Nations in Paris in 1948.

What are human rights? 

Human rights can be defined as moral principles and standards that are believed to pertain to every individual person. The thirty outlined human rights can be found at the United Nations website. Some of the human rights include the right to be free of discrimination, the right to equality, and the right to be innocent until proven guilty.
